SAE WCX Moves to Novi in 2027: A Planning Guide for Exhibitors, Expo Planners, and Agencies

SAE WCX 2027 runs April 27 to 29, 2027, and for the first time in decades it will not be downtown. After its long run at Cobo Center and Huntington Place, the World Congress Experience moves to the Vibe Credit Union Showplace in Novi, the expo center formerly known as Suburban Collection Showplace.
For exhibitors, exhibit houses, expo planners, and the experiential agencies that build around the show, that changes more than the address. The floor, the freight entrance, the move-in schedule, and the contractor rules all come from a new venue. This guide covers what to rethink for your booth furniture, and how to plan it for an audience of engineers.
WCX attendees come to talk about technical problems. They stay when there is somewhere to stand at a table, open a laptop, and sketch a solution with your team. Furniture should support the conversation first and the look second.
A communal bar table with stools that have backs gives two or three people a place to work through a problem. It does more for lead quality than another row of literature.
Engineers bring laptops. Charging furniture, like a powered Spark bar table or cafe table, keeps devices alive and keeps visitors in your booth longer.
Most booths need one counter, not three. A Blanc counter with a cable grommet holds the lead scanner and demo laptop with cables out of sight, without walling off the front of the booth.

Plan registration counters and stanchions around the new venue entrances, give attendees lounge seating and charging furniture near session rooms, and confirm freight access for every area.
